Shuttlebee Operators

Driver Requirements

Every driver operating under Shuttlebee must meet these standards. If you operate a fleet, these requirements apply to all drivers you employ.

Basic Eligibility

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license for at least 3 years
  • No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 7 years
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
  • No at-fault accidents with injuries in the past 3 years
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Required Background Clearances

Required clearances vary by state. Pennsylvania operators require the most comprehensive set due to PA PUC and Act regulations.

Pennsylvania

  • PA Act 33 — Child Abuse History Clearance
  • PA Act 34 — PA State Police Criminal Background
  • PA Act 151 — FBI Fingerprint-Based Background
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) — ordered by Shuttlebee

Maryland

  • MD Child Protective Services Clearance
  • MD Criminal Background Check
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

North Carolina

  • NC Sex Offender Registry Check
  • NC Criminal Background Check
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Automatic Disqualifiers

The following will result in automatic denial of your application, regardless of other qualifications:

  • Any conviction for a crime against a child or minor
  • Any sex offender registration requirement
  • Any violent felony conviction
  • DUI/DWI within the past 7 years
  • Suspended or revoked license at time of application
  • Failure to disclose relevant criminal history

Fleet Operators

If you operate a fleet with multiple drivers, each driver must independently meet all requirements and complete their own background clearances before operating any Shuttlebee trip. You are responsible for maintaining current clearances for all drivers.
